World war I began in 1914 and ended in 1918. It was called "The Great War", until other world wars followed it. World War I had many causes, such as nationalism,militarism, and the assassination of Franz Ferdinand.

The white Mans Burden

The White Man's Burden" is a poem written Rudyard Kipling about the United States's conquest to take over The Phillipines. It is considered a very racist poem. The White people thought they were better than everybody else. So, they took it upon themselves to take over the Phillipines and teach them how to be civilized. They took it upon themselves and still considered it a burden. From the interperatations that I read, I agree with the analysis. The analysis states that the white people had an obligation to encourage the Phillipines to be cultured and well-bred like the white people from the West. The picture is an advertisment teaching the people of the Phillipines how to be clean.

The United Statestoday is some-what imperialist. For example, In Iraq. We are fighting a battle with Iraq because the President wants to change the government to a democracy. That is a little imperialistic because we want to take the smaller country and change it. Also, in Puerto Rico. Presently, the Puerto Ricans have to carry the Puerto Rican flag along with the American flag.

With the exception of Iraq, we are not living the "White Man's Burden." In today's society, most people are cultured and know how to act. We know how take care of ourselves, physcially [hygiene], emotionally and mentally. People don't need the help of other countries to tell them how to live. We have the ability to do it ourselves.

Nationalism

The definition of nationalism is extreme loyalty to a nation and concern for its welfare. I think i am nationalistic because i represent my country an what it stands for. i do this by going to the fourth of July every year. and my parents pay their taxes and help the country out with its money problems. so this is my opnion of waht being nationalistic means.

Simon bolivar is a great leader and he is very important to the people of Latin
America So important that they named a country after him this is why.
he was influenced by the french and american revoulutions and he thought that it was about time that his country broke away from spain. so he joined up with francsico de miranda and revolted and quickly occupied carcas.
after a short trip back to europe he came bak and partcipated inthe declaration of venezuela and lost the battle or the pert city of puerto buello.
boliviars accomplishments are remarkable he had a small army and took over a continent jos leadership skills were amazing and tghat iswhy he is still remembered today

The scientific method to me are like guidelines that you have to follow in order to properly test an experiment.
an example of an experiment that uses the scientific method is during the scientific revolution a young scientist named Galileo had a hypothesis that all objects fell at the same speed and he proved his hypothesis by going to the top of the leaning tower of piza and dropped different weighted rocks and they all fell at he same speed
